Match Moving Artist (3D Equalizer Expert)

DESCRIPTION:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Match Moving Artist with a strong background in using 3D Equalizer to join our VFX team. As a Match Moving Artist, you will be responsible for creating seamless camera tracking and object match moving, integrating 3D elements into live-action footage. Your expertise in 3D Equalizer will be crucial in ensuring that all VFX shots are precisely aligned with real-world camera movements, helping achieve photorealistic results.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Camera Tracking: Accurately track and solve 3D camera movements from live-action footage using 3D Equalizer to ensure proper integration of 3D elements.
  • Object Tracking: Perform precise match moving of objects within a scene, ensuring consistency in scale, perspective, and motion for flawless integration.
  • Data Integration: Export camera and object tracking data for use in 3D software like Maya, Houdini, or Nuke.
  • Lens Distortion: Handle lens distortion workflows, including undistorting and redistorting footage as required.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with VFX supervisors, compositors, and CG artists to ensure the technical and creative vision is realized.
  • Problem-Solving: Troubleshoot and solve match moving issues, providing solutions to complex tracking problems.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure that all match moving work is accurate and matches the visual style and technical requirements of the project.
  • Version Control: Manage and organize project files, ensuring proper naming conventions and version control throughout the production pipeline.
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
  • Proficiency in 3D Equalizer: Minimum 2 years of experience using 3D Equalizer for camera and object tracking.
  • Experience in VFX/CG Production: At least 3 years of experience in a match moving role within a VFX studio or related industry.
  • Software Knowledge: Familiarity with Maya, Nuke, Houdini, or other 3D and compositing tools is highly preferred.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong eye for detail and ability to handle complex shots with precision.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues related to camera tracking and object matching.
  • Understanding of VFX Pipelines: Solid understanding of VFX and post-production workflows, including the integration of 3D elements into live-action footage.
  • Team Player: Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment.
  • Experience with photogrammetry and LiDAR scanning
  • Knowledge of lens calibration workflows and tools.
  • Experience working with stereo 3D footage.
